National Festival of Bulgarian of Folklore
Held since 1965. The festival promotes an incredible Bulgarian folklore by singing ensembles from around the country gathered in one place. In its first edition between 12 and 15 August near Koprivshtica over 4,000 singers, dancers and musicians have gathered.
The festival takes place every five years and in 2010 is its tenth edition. This traditional festival is held in Voyvodenets. The festival is a competition. All of the participants in the current programs of the folklore area are based on the origin. In the anniversary edition of the festival more than 18,000 participants were included.
At the festival participate musicians, storytellers, folk tales, folk customs and other groups. An interesting fact is that it represents Bulgarian folk dances and customs among the participants foreign groups.
