The house of George Benkovski
The birthplace of Georgi Benkovski - the leader of the April Uprising, is also interesting. It was built in 1831 and is the classical model of philistine plank house with a porch and a lacy wooden beams. In 1966 the house was renovated and furnished like a museum. A photo exhibition traces the life and revolutionary activities of Gavril Gruev Hlutev (George Rousse). In the museum exhibit a cherry cannon is placed on top, donated by Mihail Madjarov.
