Tryavna is located in the foothills of the Balkan Mountains and 250 km from both Varna and Sofia. The population is about 10,000 people. The settlement was inhabited as early as the Thracians, but became a cultural and handicraft center in the 19th century. During the Renaissance Tryavnas Art School was developed.

Today Triavna has managed to preserve its Renaissance spirit. Built in 1814, the clock tower is a symbol of the city and is located downtown. In 1967, the tower was declared an architectural monument of national importance.

Famous works of Tryavnas Art School can be found in several museums, one of which is Daskalovata house. There are the so-called carved suns created by masters Ivan Bochukovetsa and Dimitar Oshanetsa while in 1808 they padprevarvali to prove their skills. Museum of the icon which is located on a hill above Triavna keep works of icon-painting. There are kept 160 original icons and tools zagrafi.

The poet Pencho Slaveykov lived in Triavna of 1827-1895g. with his wife and children in a house that was located close to Daskalovata. The creative path of the artist and his son Petko is presented with special documents.

Old School is also located in the city center. There can be observed the educational process in 1893. and various teaching aids. The museum has a collection of clocks from different periods, as well as works by the artist Dimitar Kazakov. Nearby is located tsarkavata "St. Archangel Michael" was built, according to legend, in the 12th century. Visitors admire the carved icons and frescoes.

Museum of Asian and African Art in Tryavna is unique in the Balkans. There is exposed a collection of over 360 items from Nepal, India, Tibet and some African countries as well as statues of various deities of Asia. Many of the African masks and objects were used for pagan rituals and voodoo spells they represent demons, which eyes looking down.

Original weapons since the Liberation, what and old photos can be viewed in the home of revalyutsionera Angel, where you can learn and many more are history. The house was declared are architectural monument of national importance in 1967.
